Who Were the Only Gubernatorial Candidates to Return the WFE Questionnaire?

It is an election year, and if you are like me, education will be a major factor in how and who you vote for this election year.

That is why Wyoming Freedom in Education sent out questionnaires to all the gubernatorial, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and legislative primary candidates.

The cover sheet of our questionnaire clearly stated:

“If we do not receive a questionnaire back from you, we will assume that our issue is not important to you and report that to our members.”

And as of yet we have not received a completed and returned questionnaire from our current “Republican” governor, Matt Mead or the State Board of Education Treasurer, Pete Gosar, who is unopposed in the Democrat primary.

What do Matt Mead and Pete Gosar have to hide? If they are proud of their stance on education, they would have had no problem completing our questionnaire.

But two Republican candidates did complete and return their surveys, despite being very busy balancing work and being on the campaign trail: current Superintendent of Public Instruction, Cindy Hill, and Dr. Taylor Haynes.

We want you to make a fully informed vote this election year, and that is why we sent out our questionnaire. It is important that you are given an opportunity to see where those who wish to serve you in the Wyoming government stand concerning education in Wyoming.

If you read the responses from Superintendent Hill and Dr. Taylor Haynes, you can see why Governor Mead would not answer our questionnaire.  He simply can’t answer it honestly and look good to true conservatives, and we have him on the record concerning controversial educational issues like Common Core and the ESEA flexibility waiver (No Child Left Behind Waiver)  so he can’t lie on our questionnaire to save face.

Education will play a major role in this year’s election. And that is why we will be putting all of the returned completed surveys on the website in the next few weeks.

We want you to know where the people who want to serve you and your children and/or grandchildren stand concerning educational freedom in Wyoming so you can make a fully educated vote during the August 19th primary election. (We will send out surveys to third party candidates following the primary)

We were upfront with all candidates who received our questionnaire. Anyone who read our cover letter knew that failing to return our questionnaire would be an admission that educational issues are not important to them, and our Governor and the Treasurer of the State Board of Education FAILED to answer 9 simple questions pertaining to education in Wyoming.

Together we can win the fight for educational freedom in Wyoming, and it starts with making fully informed votes. Find out which candidates you can vote for on August 19th, and where each of them stand on key issues

Fully informed, we can make a difference this election year!
